Fall, my favorite season, has arrived. The leaves are falling in Chicago along with the temps, which makes for beautiful brisk walks on the lakefront, sans the perspiration. My highlight this month was visiting Las Vegas – walks on the Strip definitely with perspiration – for CrowdStrike’s Fal.Con.

Cybersecurity M&A
Cybersecurity mergers and acquisitions activity has remained strong this year, highlighting the overall robustness of the sector amid concerns of a recession. There were a total of 148 M&A deals during the first half of 2022, totaling nearly $103 billion, with 8 transactions that topped $1 billion.
Blind Spots
Public cloud adoption continues to accelerate, but cybersecurity measures haven’t kept up – creating blind spots. A recent survey revealed nearly two-thirds have data in the public cloud, but barely one-third have a security tool in place to know if data exfiltration occurred in the last six months.
